Difference Coffee
A bespoke storefront for the world's rarest coffee.
Difference Coffee sells the rarest coffees in the world, single estates and competition lots, as Nespresso-compatible capsules poured in more than 100 Michelin-starred restaurants, and Eyal Gantz is its Shopify design and engineering lead. Luxury coffee at Michelin price points cannot look like a stock Shopify store, so the brand needed a storefront as considered as its packaging, warm, editorial, and set in serif type, carrying a fast-moving catalogue of rare single-origin capsules for a founder who iterates on design down to fine detail. Gantz owns the theme end to end: a custom Online Store 2.0 build in Liquid, assembled from bespoke sections including a photographic award-winning hero, a bestsellers carousel with tasting notes and competition medals, the served-worldwide venue wall, and the founder's story, all on a documented CSS design-token system. Staging-first deploys through the Shopify CLI verify every change before it touches the live store.

What problem did Difference Coffee have?
Luxury coffee at Michelin price points cannot look like a stock Shopify store. Difference needed a storefront as considered as its packaging (warm, editorial, serif) carrying a fast-moving catalogue of rare single-origin capsules, with a founder who iterates on design down to fine detail.
How did Eyal solve it?
I own the theme end to end: a custom Online Store 2.0 build assembled from bespoke sections (a photographic award-winning hero, a bestsellers carousel with tasting notes and competition medals, the "served worldwide" venue wall, and the founder's story) on a documented design-token system, with staging-first deploys so every change is verified before it touches the live store. I work directly with the founder through rapid design rounds, and shipped a full serif-editorial redesign at launch.
