Gigi Ben Artzi
A portfolio that gets out of the artist's way.
Gigi Ben Artzi is a film director and photographer, and Eyal Gantz designed and built his portfolio site as designer and developer over about four weeks. A creative portfolio lives or dies on its media: the work had to load fast and look cinematic, the design had to stay quiet enough to let the imagery breathe, and the whole thing had to keep running for years without becoming a maintenance burden. Gantz built it on WordPress using the Roots Bedrock stack with a custom theme and a proper Webpack and SCSS pipeline, engineering WordPress like a product rather than a website: Composer-managed dependencies, environment separation, and version control. The front end is deliberately spare so the films and stills take center stage and the website itself disappears. That developer-grade foundation has kept the site live, presentable, and low-maintenance for years, with the director's own work leading every page.
