Salem Wine & Liquor is a family-owned fine wine and spirits shop that has served South Salem, New York since 1966, and Eyal Gantz is the AI and automation engineer behind its online catalog. A decades-deep selection is a strength in the store and a liability online: thousands of SKUs with thin descriptions, missing images, and inconsistent categories make a storefront hard to browse and impossible to keep current by hand. Gantz designed and built an AI enrichment pipeline that treats the catalog as a living system. Running on Laravel against the Square Catalog API, with LLM enrichment through Claude, AI image sourcing, Cloudflare Workers, and queues, it writes trustworthy product descriptions, finds the right bottle imagery, and sorts thousands of wines and spirits into a coherent category tree. Pricing intelligence and inventory automation sit on top, so the storefront stays accurate and well merchandised on its own.
